The listening part is about the dinosaurs. It contains two parts. The first part is the general introduction about dinosaur, and the second part is about the reasons for their extinction. It’s an interesting topic for students to discuss.  学情分析  The students are from senior 2 who have enough vocabulary  to understand the listening materials. They also master many listening skills. They can express their own opinions by using the words they have learned. 教学目标  1. Knowledge objectives  1). To master the new words that related to the topic, such as, dinosaur, , meteorite, extinction, volcanic eruption, evolve, fossil... 2). To know something about dinosaurs and the reasons for their extinction.  2. Ability objectives  1). To learn to use the listening skills, such as numbers, key words and transitional words.  2). To say how to protect endangered animals by discussing with the students around them. 3. Emotion objectives  1). To realize it’s our duty to protect endangered animals. 2). To have the awareness of building Chinese Dream.  教学方法  1).Task-based teaching method 2). Communicative teaching method   3  教学辅助工具 1). Multimedia computer  2). PowerPoint 2007  3). Interactive Whiteboard  教学重点  1). To help students find the exact numbers and their meanings after listening .  2). To introduce some useful listening skills, such as how to catch numbers, key words and transitional words while listening. 3). To help students find out the reasons for dinosaurs’ extinction. 教学难点  1). How to make students use the listening skills properly. a  prediction according to the given questions.  2). How to describe their ideal dinosaurs in their own words.  教学过程  Procedures  Activities  Purpose of design Step1 Lead in  Show some pictures on the screen and introduce dinosaur to the  students by telling a sad story. Meanwhile, help students to learn some new words which will be used in the listening part.  1. To catch the students’ attention quickly and rise their interest.  2. To help students master the new words easier.  Step2 Vocabulary  1. Gibe students a chart about the new words, and lead them to read and remember them.  2. Check the students memory. Ask them pay attention to the screen, and tell me the correct words or Chinese meaning.  3. Play a game. Ask students to click the correct pairs.  1. To help students to  consolidate the new words. 2. To create a competitive learning atmosphere by playing the game.  Step2 Pre-listening  Make a survey  Show four questions about some information of dinosaurs, and ask them to discuss with their desk  1. To know how much the students know about the  dinosaurs. 2. To introduce the topic   4  mates. Then collect the statistics. 1.
