Unit 3 Section A 2a—2e  Teaching goals:  Talk about how to get to places using the flowing questions. 1. How do you get to school? 2. How long does it take? 3. How far is it from …to …? Before class  Talk with the students. Talk about some differences of pronunciation between British English and American English. And let them try to copy the American English, so that they can pass listening tests easily, they can do it as well as possible. Step1 Warm-up  Use the question “How many…?” to talk about the numbers. Help the students find out the rules. Write some numbers in English, then check. Step 2 Presentation  1. Talk about the question, “How far is it from home to school?” Then practice the dialog.  2. Teach the new one, “How long does it take?” Go on practicing.  2    3. Work in pairs, make a new dialog using the three questions. How do you get to school?  How long does it take?  How far is it from home to school? Step 3 Listening task  1. Listen to 2b for the first time ,try to find out the information about Tom. Give them some tips before listening. Listen again. Check the answers. 2. Go on listening for twice, find out something about Jane. Do it by themselves, then check the answers. Step 4 Dialog  1. Watch a short video, and try to get its main idea. 2. Teach the new words.  3. Read it silently, and fill in the chart.  4. Try to use a picture to talk about it.
