Watch a video of bad manners in the school and lead in the public signs. 3 Task 1 To help students know the meanings of some public signs and speak them out. To master the new phrase ‘warn sb. not to do sth.’ T-Ss 3 mins 1. Show two groups of public signs and speak out their meanings. 2. Remind students to notice the differences between these two groups. 3. Highlight the new phrase ‘warn sb. not to do sth.’ and practice it. 4 Task 2 To pave the way for listening Part A2. To help students master some listening skills. To get the meanings of some public signs and go on a complete discussion about the places where the signs appear. T-Ss Pair work 10 mins 1. Present some public signs and some common public places. 2. Let students predict the places where the signs may appear. 3. Advise students to predict the missing information according to something we have already known. 4. Listen and fill in the blanks in Part A2. 5. Help students organize their conversations and learn to use different public signs in different places. 5 Task 3 To help students master some listening skills, the features and usages of public signs. Individual work 4 mins 1. Listen to Part A1 twice and complete the blanks. 2. Learn the new phrases ‘complain’ and ‘keep sb. safe from danger’. 3. To speak out the proper behaviours in public places. T-Ss 3 mins 1. Show a painting of Picasso and let students know the dialogue happens in the art museum. 2. Before listening, ask students to predict what public signs may appear in the art museum. 3. After listening, let students find out the two public signs ‘No photos’ and ‘Be quiet’. 7 Task 4 To get students to output what they have learnt in this period, including making up a short dialogue or a short play. Group work 18 mins 1. Present 4 pictures of places related to students’ daily life. 2. Ask students to choose one of the four places and discuss what they should do and shouldn’t do there with their partners, then organize their own dialogues and short plays. 3. Evaluate students’ shows. 8 Summary 1. To help students consolidate what they have learned. 2.
