I. Teaching Contents: Unit 10 I’d like some noodles : Section A (1a-1c) II. Analysis of the Teaching Material 1. Status and function  The topic of this unit is about food. The students will learn how to order food or take-away. In this unit, the students will be able to use “would like” to express their need for food and learn how to ask others’ information and provide their personal information during the process. 2. Teaching aims and demands  (1) Knowledge objects  a. To master the new words about food.  b. To master the usage of countable nouns and uncountable nouns. c. To master the modal verb “would” and “what” questions.  (2) Ability objects  a. To use “would like” to talk about the need for food.  b. To improve students’ ability of communication and social practice.   (3) Sensibility objects:   Let the students experience the happiness of learning English, cultivate  their ability to do things and foster the spirit of cooperation in group activities.  3. Teaching difficult points and focus:  (1)Key words , target language and structures;  (2)To master the usage of countable nouns and uncountable nouns;  (3)To use “would like” to express their need for food and learn how to order food.  III. Target Language   2  (1) What would you / she / he / they like? I’d / She’d / He’d / They’d like… (2) What kind of noodles would you like? I’d like beef and tomato noodles, please. IV. Vocabulary   noodles, beef, chicken, mutton, potatoes, cabbage, dumplings, orange , would like, kind.  V. Teaching Time  The first period  I .Teaching Aims and Demands 1. Knowledge objects  (1) Key words: noodles, beef, mutton, chicken, cabbage, potatoes,  tomatoes.  (2) Target Language:  A: What would you like? B: I’d like some beef.  A: What kind of noodles would you like? B:I’d like beef and  tomato noodles, please.  (3)Listening practice and speaking practice (4)To learn the countable and uncountable nouns. 2. Ability objects  To train students’ ability of listening and speaking. II. Teaching Focuses  1. To learn the names of food and the countable and uncountable nouns; 2. To learn how to order food; 3. To make group work. III. Teaching Procedures Step 1 Warming up   3  Talk about the food the students like.   What kind of food do you like? What’s your favorite food? Step 2 Presentation  1. Show the pictures of some food and teach the new words of food used in noodles.  2. List many nouns and let the students discuss in groups and tell us what kinds of nouns these words are. (countable, uncountable, countable and uncountable nouns)  3. Let the students learn how to ask and answer about what they want.  What would you / she / he / they like? I’d / She’d / He’d / They’d like…  In this part, I’ll use the form of chanting to increase the students’ interests and to create a relaxing atmosphere.( using the method of clapping and chanting)  4. Make conversations in groups about the food students know, using the sentence structures: What would you / she / he / like? I’d / She’d / He’d like---.  5. Introduce Xiao Shenyang Noodle House and 3 specials in the noodle house: beef and tomato noodles; mutton and potato noodles; chicken and cabbage noodles. 6. Present the target language as following:  A: What kind of noodles would you / she / he like?   B: I’d / she / he like beef and tomato noodles, please. Step 3 Listening  1. Introduce my friend Peter likes noodles very much, and now he’s in Xiao Shenyang Noodle House. Then ask the students guess what kind of noodles he would like?  2、Play the recording the first time .Students only listen
